We won a car!
Toyota New Zealand ran a competition in March this year and over 500
charities entered. It was Toyota’s way of saying thanks to New Zealand
for 25 years of market leadership. We are thankful to all of our
supporters who voted in support of ENZ and helped us to be one of 25
winners! In a few words at the hand-over ceremony, Deborah Bush CEO of
Endometriosis NZ said “We’re really
excited to have our Corolla which will fulfil an incredibly rewarding
purpose going to schools to deliver our ‘me’ programme, to hospitals for
our Patient Partnering Programme, to workplaces to deliver our
workplace wellness programme and reaching women and girls in the
community whose lives, schooling, careers, relationships and fertility
are so sorely compromised by this very common and debilitating
condition.”
Thanks again to everyone – we wouldn’t have the car if it wasn’t for your support. Here’s the before and after pics!

Consensus on Current Management of Endometriosis
The First global consensus on endometriosis published in Human Reproduction Hum Reprod 2013 [Epub]Johnson NP and Hummelshoj L et al; was announced last week. Fifty-six representatives of 34 national and international organisations, came together in the consensus meeting in Montpellier in 2011, to agree on the current management of endometriosis.
What is of huge significance is that Endometriosis NZ played a central role in this World Endometriosis Society initiative. Ms Deborah Bush QSM represented endometriosis organisations worldwide and Dr Neil Johnson was primary author of the consensus document on behalf of the World Endometriosis Society. Professor Cindy Farquhar was also involved as a presenter. The consensus allowed different perspectives to be heard in one forum around the same table: clinicians, surgeons, scientists, women with endometriosis, and industry - women's voices which had previously not been heard. Whilst maintaining its services and programmes, ENZ will continue to work with others at this unprecedented level to ensure improved health outcomes for all women and girls with endometriosis.
