Advocacy

ENZ seeks to influence government policy and encourage change for those with endometriosis and improve systems for those treating it.  In 2008 ENZ secured a contract with the New Zealand government to investigate the need for endometriosis treatment guidelines or pathways.   The ENZ Trust Board established and facilitates an Endometriosis Special Interest Group (ESIG) comprising specialist gynaecologists, GP's, Maori and patient representatives to act in an advisory role.  ENZ is collaborating with government to have the first phase of recommendations introduced in 2009 (ENZ Report 2009).

ENZ aims to change 'what is' into 'what should be' by giving voice to endometriosis to raise awareness, highlight significant issues and propose policy solutions.

Local concerns and issues
A number of local concerns and issues have been brought to our attention allowing ENZ to gain an understanding about what is important to endometriosis communities throughout the country and to address any issues that require attention.

Have your say.  Is there an issue in your local area you think ENZ should be aware of?

If so, please let us know.
